Biracial hair questions????

I have 3 biracial daughters (I'm black, my husband is white) ages 9, 5, and 1. My oldest daughter has long curly hair when its wet but as soon as it dries it seems brittle, and very nappy at times. When she was younger it was easy to wet, apply coconut oil, and go but now as it has gotten longer all I can do is braid it or put it up in a ponytail. My middle daughter has shorter, thicker hair hers is a little bit more managable, but it is brittle sometimes as well. I've tried just about every reccomended hair product on the market, and it usually only works for a while. I make sure I keep their ends trimmed, I wash and condition their hair twice a week, I have even asked my friends what they have used for their biracial children, (and four of them are hair stylists) and nothing seems to work. HELP, I am about at my wits end. Can someone reccomed something that will work?

Biracial hair questions????

Try Mizani. I saw in a mag that it straightens hair without relaxers and leaves it smooth. It is used on naturally curly hair like your daughters's. Since Their young You should Use some All About Me Texturizers. These act as a uber light treatment that makes curls easier to manage. Basically gives them a wet manageable look. Also consider the line of Mixed Chicks Products. The name says it all.

Good Luck!!!

Biracial hair questions????

try checking their diets.. brittle hair is usually caused by poor nourishment. The nappyness is genetic though. Maybe you should consider doing a big trim.. like 3-6 inches. It will improve her long hair alot. When i grew my hair really long(about 9) whenever my mom cut it she allways took off like 6 inches.

Biracial hair questions????

Even though the are bi-racial, you still need to put some kind of "grease" in their heads, because they're black and can still have a kinky hair texture even though they are mix. Not the old fashion grease your momma used to put in your head, but something like the product called Motions. It comes in a yellowish- goldish bottle with purple letters it's greaseless, it helps keep hair mositurized which is what they need.

That's a hard one. Using no chemicals... but you could always use a curling iron. Or, when you get out of the shower, use a curling mousse to scrunch your hair. That way your hair will have more curls, and more volume. Good Luck. Hope I helped! =))

What do I do to make my daughters hair grow?

My 2 year old daughter is mixed, and I don't know what to about the growth of it. Do I trim it like I do with mine? She doesn't have the nasty nappy stuff either. She has my type of hair, and his curls. It's gorgeous, but I want it to grow. It is Long, but I want it longer. Any ideas?

What do I do to make my daughters hair grow?

I have a biracial daughter and I am also a Managing Cosmetologist. I don't recommend braiding it, that causes a lot of breakage, especially in a young child. I like "just for me" or "baby love" products, they can be found in the ethnic hair section of most retail stores. Keep the ends trimmed and keep her hair moisturized. After shampooing and conditioning her hair, don't towel dry it all the way, the curls will stay better if you just add leave in moisturizer and comb it from scalp to ends and leave it. Don't comb it when its drying or dry. It will get frizzy looking.

What do I do to make my daughters hair grow?

trim it every month as you would your own to remove the dead growth and help new growth come in. I'm mixed and have normal but extremely curly hair and it worked for me.

What do I do to make my daughters hair grow?

SMH. Hair is only nasty if you don't take care of it. With that being said, basically don't too much with it but keep it clean and braided. And next time get knocked up by someone with "not so nasty hair".

What do I do to make my daughters hair grow?

let her hair grow at its natural pace, she's too young for any kind of supplements or things that adults use to try and support hair growth. if her diet is healthy and she is getting everything she needs nutritionally, her hair will grow at a healthy normal rate

What do I do to make my daughters hair grow?

First of all what the H#ll do you mean with nasty hair I know a couple of non African American people with hair that that is beyond nasty so check yourself race doesn't make your hair nasty parents that don't take care of there children's hair as they should because they don't know what they are doing an have to go on line to do so do. and to answer you question try a light hair grease called TCB it works thank you.

What do I do to make my daughters hair grow?

The best thing to do is WAIT. Trimming it every six weeks WILL NOT make it grow quicker or thicker. However, trimming will prevent any split ends from traveling up the hair shaft toward the scalp.

It is recommended to get a trim every 4 weeks. Since you're waiting longer between salon visits, use leave-in conditioners FORMULATED FOR YOUR DAUGHTER'S HAIR. That's the key phrase!!!!

Just remember this....trimming the hair does not genetically alter your daughter's DNA to program her body to grow hair faster.

African american peoples hair?

Why do most of the african american women/men have different type of hair (Also not as much hair) as other races???

their hair is all curly and it will form into an afro (A nappy one) if you just leave it without combing and stuff i guess?

African american peoples hair?

yes

African american peoples hair?

F.Y.I black ppl have a lot of hair and white people wear fake hair, weave, and extensions..and white pplz hair could turn into an afro 2

African american peoples hair?

1st of all....God gave us the hair that we have...i'm African American %26amp; Native American and my hair is not nappy...i cant turn this stuff into an afro...every race has different hair types because thats exactly what we are...DIFFERENT!

African american peoples hair?

Noobie to answer your question, black women we use alot of chemicals in our hair to cause it to straighten. Sometimes our hair gets damaged in the process and it affects the way that it grows. The weaves are only adding to the damage. You will find that black women that don't use relaxers (Straightening chemicals) in their hair it grows faster but who wants to walk around with nappy hair? That only applies to the vast majority of black women. Can't speak for them all. Hope I answered your question. My husband is white and he always asked the same thing. Why does our daughter's hair grow so fast and mine doesn't. Because she doesn't have nappy hair like mommy.

Why are asians hair always straight?

African american peoples hair?

Boy oh boy, I don't know where you got your info, but here goes... I am an Italian-Canadian, and I can achieve an afro like you cannot believe. African-American hair is different in texture, but hardly ''nappy'' as you put it. I do have a couple of clients who do wear a weave or braids, but most of my clientele who wear them are white. All cultures have different textures of hair within the culture, its genetics, NOT skin colour.

African american peoples hair?

First of all where did you get your information about the Afro? Afro's are not formed by not combing your hair. I suggest you do your research on African American Hair.

The reason why African American has different grades of hair is due to heredity, just like your race has different grades of hair. I seen a white person with bushy hair.

The reason most of us has what you called "Nappy" hair is that our hair follicles produce curly strands instead of straight.

African american peoples hair?

The correct terminology is curly hair not straight, which most caucasions have. And I disagree that the hair is nappy, you have just fed into the hype that society has given us about our culture because they do not understand, but if you just pick up a book and read and learn about different types and textures you will find out that other races have curly hair as well. And when the curl is really tight it is called over curly hair which with the right chemicals or styling aids you can achieve whatever look you want with this type of hair. I have worked in diversified salons and have done all hair types and I personally can do more styles with curly hair vs straight hair because it holds curls better. People with naturally straight hair have to get a permanent first or the hair will not hold curls. We naturally curly hair people actually have an advantage. But if you don't understand something don't criticize it by calling it a name such as (nappy) just ask your question as intelligently as you can without making it look or sound as if you are ignorant. But if it is something that intimidates you because it is so flexible and flyy then don't be afraid to say so............... Because curly hair is beautiful. Trust. And when you get a chance go and listen to a song by India Arie on AOL the title is "I am not my hair" and you will understand that it is not important to judge people by theirs...................... And then if you are still not satisfied, take it up with God for he is the one who created us all, he made us just the way he wanted us and I love it................

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

im a black girl who is going on this trip with my friend...we are going to stay in orlando and go to water parks and such but the water park is only for a day(after that are land rides)..of course my stylist wont be there or anyone who remotely knows how to fix up ethnic or "kinky" hair ( but im sorta mixed so my hair is a little softer and smoother ;not nappy at all)so i was wondering if anyone knew certain styles for black girls where i can wet my hair for one day and still have it look nice after.

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

you could always braid it and then wear it wavy the next day

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

as a black chick the best thing I can advise is to get your hair braided before you go so when it gets wet you won't loose the style.

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

I also have ethnic hair...what you could do is after the water park, make sure you wash your hair and then put in a good leave-in conditioner and braid your hair (not too tight) and then take it down in the morning. It will look wavy...hope this helps!!!!

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

braids

or a smoothing serum and slick your hair back into a "curly" ponytail

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

Braids are your best bet. That way, you can create different styles by letting them hang or putting them up with a scrunchie, clips or bobby pins.

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

It's not possible. Black girls hair looks like a brillo pad wet or dry.

I think u should try a perm ot something. Dont get a strong perm. Try something mild or maybe start out with a kiddie perm.
