I used to get perms, but they broke off my hair, so i stopped in about April or so. Then i started flat-ironing it, but that didn't work;(I did all this myself;do i need a friend to do it for me??)THEN i started hot-combing it, but that didn't work for more than a day! I'd like to get a straight look that lasts for a few days, but no perm!!And, I'm kinda broke, so getting it done professionally is out of the question for me. Maybe someone could just TEACH me how to use a hot comb on my OWN hair?!? Help?!

I think you need to get a better hair straightener, no all of them are the same. Get a CHI, which is a ceramic iron that limits the heat damage, and the only one that keeps my curly hair straight all day. They are available at most salons for about $100-$149. JcPenney is the best place to get one because u can get it for about $50 under retail.

learn how to "wrap" your hair and sit under a hair dryer. It takes forever but it really works. If you are not familier with how to wrap you may be able to look it up online.hope this helps.

get a deep conditioner and a hot oil treatment

also buy leave in conditioner. and sometimes you need a good expensive flat iron to get the work done.. use pantene shampoo and conditioner they have different kinds make sure you get something that says sleek or straight and shinny or something like that cant remember the exact name but you will know. and get your hair roll and set every 2 weeks you have tobe consistant with that.

I HAVE NATURAL CURLY HAIR, AND WHEN I WANT TO GO STRAIGHT, I USE A BLOW DRYER AND I BRUSH. YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS YOURSELF

okay i have a perm and my hair is really long ......heres the secret.......when you get a perm have the perm on and washing it off in 20 minutes .....i know it wont be bone straight it will be curly (but not nappy)...but it is really easy to straighten and dont wash it every day mabey once every one or two weeks .....i know you wanted no perm but it seems like you have ran out of ideas

well i get a perm about every 3 months and all i do is use a good shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner (all from the same line of products) and it does wonders trust, also flat iron it maybe once a week and you must wrap your hair every night because this helps prevent split ends and makes your perm last longer, it's a little time consuming at first but you'll get used to it and it's so worth it......because of this my hair grows about 1 and a half to 2 inches a month but everyone's different hope this helped!

CHI !!! best straightener I ever invested in(i had mine for 10 months now). less time for me to do(my hair is down to the middle of my back). when i straighten it i use a comb at the same time. always comes out silky smooth.

ok love if you keep using a hot comb which is so 20 years a go your going to break all your hair off no one use hotcomb anymore super out datter adn there not wroking because you den had better don to your hair and sec are useing anyhting to protect your hair from the heat? you hair will break becuse now the your wantting to stop getting relaxers you have two different textures in your hair so if you wnat to stop relaxing your going to cut off all your relex hair and wear it really short or when you get soem money you can go back to the salona dn get a touch up and hvae your hair done by a hairSTYLIST ADN ASK for a hair treastmert for your damage hair
