Hey, to get your hair softer use pantene shampoo and conditioner. the only thing bad about pantene is that it has wax in it so if u colored you hair i wouldnt use it. Sorry! I am sick of ponytails to.

The best thing you can do is go to a professional for advice. Just walk in, ask for the best person for your hair type and ask lots of questions. Since you are a walk in thank them, and tell them you will call to make an appointment. Go to a few shops and do this, and while you are waiting, look through the style books too. All of this is free, and if you get several people with simialiar advice, that may be the way to go.

Also every state has beauty schools, prices are low and the instructors are there so students don't butcher you, just a thought. I have gone to Capri Beauty school in NJ Paramus, instuctors where bitchs, but a corrective dye, foil highlights, done just as I asked, and a deep condition, hair cut blowdry and style where the best $78.00 plus tip, that I've spent in years on my hair, and the least expensive.

I need help with my hair please open?

straighten it ... curl it... let it loose ....

I need help with my hair please open?

try a messy bun or a regular bun for the style and to have your hair grow longer--i dont think there is a way. and try dove or suave shampoo and conditioner for your hair when you shower

I need help with my hair please open?

are you in ny? if so check out the dominican hair salons.

I need help with my hair please open?

well maybe u should go curly. it doesn't take long if u have rollers.

And if u want ur hair to grow and be healthy be sure to wash it and get it trimmed once about every 2 months. there is really no way to make ur hair grow faster but by washing it and being well groomed that should make it look really good.

I need help with my hair please open?

straighten it, thaats what i do. it makes my hair soft too. or use Fructice shampoo and conditioner. you can also try braids or messy buns, or parting to one side

I need help with my hair please open?

Try straighting your hair...or Put cornrows in the front and straighting the back part....

I need help with my hair please open?

try curling it, straightning it. it made my hair great! if you wanna take a risk, go to a hair salon, and get a totally different haircut, and then show off the new style with your friends. =P

Hair care questions.... help?

Brazilian is not a race and you're not Brazilian if you were not born in Brazil.

Hair care questions.... help?

wash it and put gel on it when it is wet

Hair care questions.... help?

Try a really good deep conditioner before styling. Then use a hair wax and genteelly "scrunch" your hair. Use a blow dry with a diffuser attacked and blow dry on a low setting until hair is 75 percent dry. Lightly mist with a medium hold hairspray. Then follow with a shine spray. %26amp;thats it, you;'re done!

Hair care questions.... help?

My hair is just the same i buy products even to straighten it some times it works other times i have no such luck so i cant see the pic. because this computer wont let me but i wash my hair and then brush it after you brush it put muss in it ( i think thats how you spell it if not sorry) then you put hair spray in it and its curly and no frizzy. Wanting to get a hair perm?

I have long brown hair and i am wanting a change! Right now its nappy/curly. Its more of a frizzy mess actually. If i let it naturally dry its a huge nappy frizz ball. I can either take two hours to straighten it or put a whole bottle of hair gel into it and try to make it curly. I dont like putting gobs and gobs of gel in it cuz it makes it heavy and its crunchy feeling. Id love to just wake up and go with my hair being nice and pretty looking. Im tired of spending hours of time in the morning to straighten it then walk out side and the humidity curl it all up.

Ive been thinking about a perm, i alreayd have natural body to my hair, so what do you think a perm would do? I would want an open flowy type of curl perm, nothing small and tight. I want to be able to naturally dry my hair and not do a single thing and look decent! Is there any such miracle out there? Are perms damaging to your hair?

Wanting to get a hair perm?

we all what what we dont have, and the biggest misconception out there is that you CAN get it!

unfortunately, there is only so much you can do. your hair is still your hair, and from the way your describinb it, you will never be able to wake up and go, without doing anything to your hair. its unrealistic to think that there are miracle products and services that can give you anything you want. we can change your hair, but only within reason. your hair will still be your hair.

it sounds to me like you have ethnic hair. if this is true, a perm will help relax the curl a little, so its not so nappy and "stuck together". a relaxer would help do, but you wouldn't get a definite "curl". if you still want curls, just less nappy curls, i would say that a perm is something you should consider.

a perm is not a magic potion and is not going to prevent you from having to spend time on your hair. all a perm will do is relax and curl a little and give your curls a prettier form. you will not get any type of LARGE curl...it will be small and tight. there are modern day perms these days that can give people more of a "wave" instead of a curl, but since you would be using the perm to "relax" your natural curl, this wouldn't do much. a "wave" perm is for someone who has naturally straight hair, and wants to add body and waves.

perms are definetly damaging to your hair, just like any other type of chemical that you could use. what a perm actually does is break down the bonds inside your hair, rearrange them, and then "glue" the bonds back together again. your hair will take on whatever form it is put it while the perming/straightening solution is applied. so if your hair is wrapped around rods, it will take on that shape. if your hair is pulled and combed straight, it will take on that shap. i think you get the idea.

when you break bonds in your hair, it leaves it in a fragile state. breakage and damage is common because its impossible for all of the bonds to be put back together again. some of them will be permanently damaged, creating breakage, damage, and dryness. this is expected when dealing with perms, relaxers, and bleach. how much damage that will occur varries from person to person, and depends on what other chemicals (if any) they have used in the past. if you've never done anything to your hair, chances are, you'll be ok. but your hair will definetly feel different.

i would go to a salon that specializes in ethnic hair. they usually specialize in texture services (perms and relaxers). tell them what your having trouble with, what your goals are, and see if its realistic. they will tell you what, if anything, you can do that will make your hair easier to manage.

Wanting to get a hair perm?

using a chemical straightener will smooth it out. try dark and lovely super perm.

Wanting to get a hair perm?

Perms are tough on your hair, but if you don't get it done too often, you'll be fine. About twice a year if you are white and about once a month if you are black. You are always going to have to do something to it. With curly perms only use a hair pick and never comb or brush it or it will frizz outta control.

If you are looking into doing it with chems. then you need to ask a hairstyles, but if you want to use everyday household stuff you can use 1tbs. lemon juise (fresh), 1/2 cup of mayo (sound funny I know), and believe it or not 1 whole bottole of beer (any kind). Mix well then apply to your hair and let it set in for 5 min. then wash it out with your fav. shapoo in WARM water. Your hair should be soft and shiny. Only do this once a week for four weeks then once every two weeks after that.

Im a black guy with nappy hair what can i do to my hair to make it real soft. i want to try something new.?

Creme of Nature Shampoo is your best friend so is the conditioner. Hemectress conditioner by Nexxus is good too. TCB hair grease is good too.

What can i do to make my hair grow?

my hair is a black person texture. its not nappy.

What can i do to make my hair grow?

OK. what is black person texture? Kinky? I'm black with curly hair so would that be considered black person texture? Anyways.. to your question.... use mayonnaise and carrot oil... mix it together... apply it like a perm.... My people say it makes your hair soft... and it makes it grow too!!

What can i do to make my hair grow?

if your hair is wet often

moisture makes it grow quicker

just like finger nails

What can i do to make my hair grow?

Hair is made from protein so eat lots of it .

What can i do to make my hair grow?

usually my hair is very uunhealthy cause it has split ends and it is annoying cause alot of times i have tocut like 3 inches off of my hair. but..... it makes my hair grow faster. so there is a good point and a bad point .

What can i do to make my hair grow?

Ummm... brushing it thoroughly everyday helps and if you use conditioner and detangler and shampoo. (I reccommend TreSemme or Garnier Fructis.) You need to also limit using curlers, blow dryers and straighteners because thouse burn your hair and can badly texture it.

What can i do to make my hair grow?

there are tons of ways:

1. wash it less often. it may seem weird, but by washing it every day, natural oils are being removed, which dry out ends and cause them to stop growing at a good rate.

2. try using a different shampoo and conditioner. unless youre really set on using yours, try using "horse shampoo." no its not for horses at all, its just called that because it makes your hair grow twice as fast. i believe it works great and isnt expensive at all.

3. every few weeks, ask someone (or do it yourself) to snip off som split ends. it only takes a little while (no more than 20 minutes) to get a lot of dead split ends off. this will make your hair healthier and let it grow faster.

4. try vitamin E. either swallow vitamin E tablets, or put vitamin E oil on your hair. really helps!

hope i helped and best of luck!

What can i do to make my hair grow?

Well I am Black, not coarse hair or nappy and not permed.

I use Dr. Miracle to make it grow. I drink pleanty of water and take vitamin E. Dr. Miracle has Temple and Nap grow that is excellent. I also recommend his Hot Grow and growthe serum. I used it for one year. I started with shoulder lengeth hair and now I have bra length hair.

I wash my hair with Nexus. I use Dr. Miracle's Damaged Hair treatment, leave in for 8 mintes. I wash is out then I spray in a detangling leave in conditioner by Nexus. I Blow-dry next. I apply the Dr. Miracle serum and then flat iron. Then I apply the Temple and Nape to my hair twice a day. I use the hot grow on the length and ends of my hair. I wrap my hair with a scarf at night and my hair has grow about 4-5 inches in 12 months.

It's the best things that I have seen for Black people.

I don't recommend Rogaine at all. Once you stop using their product it stops working and will cause breakage.

Brushing it a lot will cause breakage to Black people's hair. Don't sit in the sun too long without having it protected under a scarf, it will cause breakage to our hair.

Of course as you know, we don't have to wash our hair every week. Other races hair will start to smell bad after a week without washing it but now ours. Don't over wash it or over blow dry it, as you know our hair will start to break. And please don't over conditioner your hair like some other races can, it will split our ends. Feel free to ask me more questions at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/mac...

What can i do to make my hair grow?

One of the best ways that my hair grew is when I was pregnant. My doctor told me it was because of the pre-natal vitamins I was taking. It also made my nails longer. You can take them even if you are not pregnant, or a daily vitamin will help. Also try Biotin. It can be obtained thru your local pharmacy %26amp; is relatively inexpensive.

What can i do to make my hair grow?

try doo gro products. you can find them at Walmart or Sally

What can i do to make my hair grow?

My hair grows faster in the summer weather.

So if your able to travel to parts of the world where it is summer time.

I had 2 summers this year - one in Australia and one in Europe. My hair is the longest its ever been. People commeneted when I arrived back home.

Hair texture- drastic change in midlife- people of color, anyone experienced?

I am a 44 yr old woman of African descent. About 6 months ago I cut my waist-long, all-natural, 21 yr old dreadlocks. I was surprised to find the texture of my hair completely changed. Before it was VERY thick, coarse, and nappy (I don't consider "nappy" a pejorative term, as "nap" actually refers to the texture of a rich, heavy fabric like velvet). But after being cut it was very soft and curly. I thought maybe it was a temporary thing, but 6 months later it's still the same. I cut my dreads because my hair was thinning due to medications, %26amp; they were all about to break off anyway. My question- have any other POC experienced a dramatic change in hair texture like this? Is this something that sometimes happens with the natural aging process? with perimenopause? Or are the meds to blame (interferon %26amp; ribavirin)? I don't think it's due to the long time wearing dreadlocks because I've noticed a similar change in my body hair. It's a mystery!

Hair texture- drastic change in midlife- people of color, anyone experienced?

It could be both. My mother's hair texture has changed with age. It's softer but not any thinner so when she goes to get her twa cut she has to let them know before they attack!!!!

Hair texture- drastic change in midlife- people of color, anyone experienced?

Well my mom's hair got really different when she was about 40 too. It got a whole lot softer so maybe it is something that happens with age. Good luck.

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

My Hair is very long but most of the time it becomes nappy sometimes. I need advice how to keep my hair nice and healthy and stylish.

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

make sure you have plenty of conditioner. I wouldn't recommend washing it everyday because shampoos tend to dry and and strip natural oils out of your hair that are meant to protect and nourish. Unfortuneatly if i dont wash my hair almost daily it tends to get a little greasy... i end up washing it 4 times a week due to this but if you have no problem doing so i would recommend washing it every other day... also make sure you take some Vitamin E.. it promotes health and strength to your hair. If you use a lot of heat to your hair be sure to get heat styling products.

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

use treseme

it works for me and the conditioner helps SOO much!

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

Its unhealthy to blowdry or straighten your hair more than three times a week. Just try to keep heat away from it as much as possible. Don't rinse out your conditioner immediately. Let it stay in for about 2 min.

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

wash and condition it every day, dont put too much product in it. That will make it knotty and greasy. Buy a good shampoo and conditioner like pantene, and if that doesnt help ask your hairdresser about different styles you could do to make managing your hair easier. Good luck! I hope I helped!閳?br>How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

Try loreal vive pro nutrigloss shampoos and conditioners. I just made the switch and my hair is absolutely SILKY! They're in a pink bottle at any supermarket or drugstore and they're not expensive! Try it!

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

Possibly if its so long its getting hard to manage, maybe you should get a hair cut :)!

If your hair is too long, maybe you arent getting enough vitamins to your hair since its so long, trust me, it happened to me before! I ended up getting a haircut (i layered it) and it is still in great condition since its not as long anymore! :)

goodluck!

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

Leave a deep conditioner in as long as you can once a week. I love Redken All Soft Heavy Cream or Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment.

PSA Pantene makes your hair smooth because it contains wax. It's not good for your hair.

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

any shampoo or conditioner with aloe vera is realy good for your hair also once aweek put almond oil in your hair leave it in over night i swear by that.x.

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

orgainc products can help like olive oil hair loation or carrot oil nad flat rap your hair or set it at nights

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

it takes a lot of work depending on hair type, length, etc etc

but most important is to shampoo+condition but not too much or too little

dont use TOO many products

don't use a lot of heat

sometimes natural remedies help keep hair shiny %26amp; healthy also.

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

use john freida or sunsilk- sunsilk has shampoos for all diferent types of hair

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

couple of techniques...

once every few weeks- keep ur hair wrapped up in a towel w/conditioner after you shower for about 10 min- then rinse it..

after each time you wash your hair, try using bio-silk or a leave in conditioner

use salon brand shampoo and conditioner- it really does make a difference (start off buying smaller bottles to discover which brand you like best..then buy large sizes to save $..and buying them in a salon is usually cheaper then at a cvs)

dont wash your hair everyday...the more you wash, the more u strip it of natural oils. try washing once or twice a week

hope this helps :)

How Can I Keep My Hair so nice and healthy?

you should probably cut it shorter

shorter hair looks nice

wash your hair everyday and trim your hair every 6 weeks or every 2/3 months

What is a good relaxer for thick hair?

my hair is really thick and shall i say nappy. every time i get a relaxer to straighten it i find myself having to us a flat iron to get it straight. this is very damaging to my hair. help college starts back soon.

What is a good relaxer for thick hair?

are you black?

well anyway, i'm hispanic and my hair is really thick i had to use a relaxer made for african-americans on my hair. just letting ya know. and if you're not black, then i don't know.

What is a good relaxer for thick hair?

The hair is never perfectly straight after a relaxer, I have that same problem only I choose not to straighten my hair with any heat appliance. What you could do is get a wrap which you could do every night to get hair straighter and than maybe bump it with a flatiron. Other than that leave the relaxer for the longest time suggested on the relaxer box, make sure thoughth you deep condition afterwards with a protein based deep conditioner.

What is a good relaxer for thick hair?

Use Motions or Olive Oil perm.

I would say do one or another. Either keep relaxing or just get your hair hot combed. Too much heat and chemicals will damage your hair.

What is a good relaxer for thick hair?

fabu laxer is good for coarse hair.extra strengh.Olive oil perm is also a good relaxer very strong. you would always have to flat iron your hair or bumb it it would never be straight completely. use pink oil moisturizer and grease your hair in between.

What is a good relaxer for thick hair?

you should get a pink box one

What is a good relaxer for thick hair?

My hair can be really course at times so I use a perm called Precise...it works really well. Also make sure that you put some type of oil moisturizer in your hair after u get a perm. Make sure that you are leaving the perm on for the right amount of time. Some people wash it out too early but make sure u dont wash it out too late. Good luck!!

Natural Homemade Beauty tips to Haircare

What are some good hair treaments?

The best way to find the best products for your hair is to try them all. That would be pretty expensive but go over to a friends house and use some of her stuff. See how it works, and just keep trying new things. Hair may work with products from this company and not that company....it's all trial and error.

If I can suggest something, I would suggest you try a hot oil treatment....for a cheaper way to have great soft and silky hair with less frizzies, warm up some olive oil (regular cooking stuff) in the microwave and massage it into your hair while it is dry. Wrap it up in a warm towel from the drier and sit for an hour or so. Maybe give yourself a facial at the same time. Then get in the shower, and shampoo out all the oil (because water won't get the oil out--oil and water don't mix) and then condition your hair. Viola! Beautiful silky hair.

The most key thing to protecting your locks is to stay away from all heat. Yep, that means no hairdrier, no straightner, no curling iron either....It's very hard not to advert to these products but just try it for a week. Don't blow dry your hair for a week....try it. I know it's hard not to but if you stay away from things with heat such as blow driers, curling irons, straightners, etc....you will notice a HUGE change in the feel and look of your hair. It will be so much more healthy.

I have kinky//nappy hair I want to straight it what do I do?

I just washed it yesterday and put some grease and stuff on it.

What am I to do? comb it/brush it then straighten it?

I have kinky//nappy hair I want to straight it what do I do?

If you want it permanently straight, go to a salon and they will take care of it. If you want it straight about 3-4 months(depends on your hair) try going to the salon and ask them to treat your hair into this relaxing hair treatment(it also straightens your hair) If it is only occasional try using iron. It lasts only for hours.

I have kinky//nappy hair I want to straight it what do I do?

Thats what I would do. It sounds like it may take a while for you to do your hair with a flat iron - but it should work.

Maybe if you want it straighter more often, you should go to a salon and get a consultation on chemical straightening.

I have kinky//nappy hair I want to straight it what do I do?

1. Have your hair cut/thinned out.

2. Use straightening serum.

3. Divide your hair up in quaters, and then take your time to straighten each quater.

4. Try to learn how to straighten your hair using a hair dryer, like hairdressers do. It stays straight longer and is better for your roots. [:

Or, you could just leave it natural as natural is very Vogue this season.

I have kinky//nappy hair I want to straight it what do I do?

For a long lasting staightness, you should perm it straight i did.Put a bottle of perm lotion on then spend 30-45 mins just brushing it downwards.Your arms will kill by the end,but it is amazing!!! It worked for me,my hair was naturally wavy and frizzy, and now its dead staight.Try it and i promise you it will be the best thing you ever did,all my friends have done it.

I have kinky//nappy hair I want to straight it what do I do?

you probably should go to a hair stylist or specialist and see what kind of shampoo they can give you thats made to make your hair straight

I have kinky//nappy hair I want to straight it what do I do?

comb, brush, then use some heat protectant, flat iron in small sections, and make sure you flat iron isnt too hot. If you do this often enough eventually you could train your hair, the bad thing is....if you do to TOO often you could burn your hair out. Just be careful.

longhaircareforum.com is a website that would help you out

(google it to make sure i typed that correctly)

also www.nappturality.com

I have kinky//nappy hair I want to straight it what do I do?

Whatever you do DON'T PERM IT!! A perm is just adding harsh chemicals to your hair and causes hair loss. I will give you my hair routine for when I want my hair straight.

1. Wash and Condition

2. After I towel dry my hair I add a heat serum (not a whole bunch) to my hair and use a wide tooth comb to detangle.

3. I put my hair into four sections

4. I blow dry each section one at a time on a low setting (my blow dryer has a comb attachment)

5. After my hair is dry I use a hair polisher (olive oil) but not a lot and just make sure its even through my hair. You can use another polisher if you want, but I suggest not using grease because it clogs your pores and retards hair growth.

6. Lastly I flat iron my hair in those same four sections. The flat iron I use is called Corioliss it works really well and leaves my hair feeling silky. You can buy it off ebay for like 30 bucks, but if you buy it at the mall it's like 120.

If you are wondering I am african-american so I do have kinky hair like you do. You can go to my myspace page if you want to see how my hair looks after it's been flat ironed. www.myspace.com/miabonita721

I hope this helps out

I'm not trying to be funny, this is a serious question - this website is the only place I have come across the expression, until whatever that bloke in the US said it.

.

What exactly is "nappy hair"?

It's a term used to describe Afro American hair--like sheep's wool, so dense and curlycurly you can't sink your fingers into it like you can Anglo hair.

Straight, Anglo-type hair is sometimes called "blow" hair because, obviously, it blows around in the wind if there is any.

What exactly is "nappy hair"?

Its only an insult if a white person uses it, just like blacks call each other "n***er" or "dog" and that's OK but not if an outsider says it. White people used it up to about the 60's to imply the nappy-haired one was ignorant. After that the Afro became fashionable, the bigger the better. Report It

What exactly is "nappy hair"?

ungroomed %26amp; unkept hair.

What exactly is "nappy hair"?

A really cr*p afro.

What exactly is "nappy hair"?

unstraight hair I think.

There's nothing wrong with it.

What exactly is "nappy hair"?

I'm not totally sure but I think messy. Thats all I can think of. As for me I just don't care about that old goat b/c I've never heard of him and he's just another old goat who gives opions on a radio station I don't listen too.

What exactly is "nappy hair"?

I think it is like the dog's hair, if you give a shaggy dog a bath and the hair becomes all lumped together in balls.

Why wont my nappy hair relax?

depends on if you are using an at home relaxer .....some arent strong enough to handle very curly kinky hair and it depends on how old u r if you are going through puberty relaxers perms and color might not take because of hormones

Why wont my nappy hair relax?

lol use a strong perm and if u already did dat den yo hair just plain african

Why wont my nappy hair relax?

buy a dr.miricle perm it'll work

Why wont my nappy hair relax?

You are a man, why would you want to perm your hair anyways. You must be trying to get pumped waves or something. Are you trying to get the Five Heartbeat look? Big Red.

Why wont my nappy hair relax?

Maybe you are not moisturizing it enough or brushing it. You can condiction it too

(sorry for the spelling)

Why wont my nappy hair relax?

Use a stronger perm and leave it in longer.

I have sort of nappy hair and i just bleached and dyed my hair.?

i want it to get straight with out hotcombing or flat ironing any suggestions

I have sort of nappy hair and i just bleached and dyed my hair.?

I'm not going to comment on the bleaching/hair dying thing because I've had pink hair before and to go from a natural brunette to bubble gum pink you have to do some major damage to your hair.

You could have in permanently relaxed the way some girls have their hair curled...but you'll have to wait (I forget how long) between your processes so that you won't literally destroy your hair between the dying and straightening. And make sure you're 100% honest with your stylist about what you do to your hair otherwise you will not be happy with the results.

Other than that? I'd try to keep the chemical processes down to a bare minimum because while change can be cut eand fun it can really kill your hair if you're not careful. And doing too many heat procedures can also do some damage!

I have sort of nappy hair and i just bleached and dyed my hair.?

why would you bleach and dye your hair?...that can causes alot of damage. How about going to a professional stylist and have them deep condition and maybe even perm your hair.

I have sort of nappy hair and i just bleached and dyed my hair.?

Your hair sounds like it's over process. Bleaching %26amp; coloring helps the hair to become extremely dry. You need a deep conditioning done to your hair.

What can i do to make my frizzy hair straighten better?

I don't like my hair, and i never have.

I'm half african american and half white so i have the frizzyness of black girl hair but its really curly but its not nappy at all.

I like to straighten it but it takes a long time to straighten and its never very flat. Plus about half-way through the day it starts to get wavy!

Does anyone know any tips or tricks?

or any good hair products that SERIOUSLY reduce volume of hair?

What can i do to make my frizzy hair straighten better?

try using an oil for your hair. They sell a spray on type or a pump kind in local drugstores.

What can i do to make my frizzy hair straighten better?

Try a staightening serum from walmart or target before you straighten your hair. Hope that helps!!

What can i do to make my frizzy hair straighten better?

try rebonding it.. it works.. but when the hair grows out u've got to do it again.. try moisturising shampoo to get the frizz away... garnier's pretty good..

What can i do to make my frizzy hair straighten better?

i know frizz ease has a product...

i think its called straight solution,

or something like that.

hope this helps!

What can i do to make my frizzy hair straighten better?

I like to use a product called hair lotion its in a pink bottle it helps get your hair flat and really smooth, plus its very inexpensive I think I paid two dollars for one bottle. Although it may not lower the time it takes to straighten your hair it does change it from frizzy to smooth

What can i do to make my frizzy hair straighten better?

If you take a shower at night sleep on silk pillowcases to reduce the frizz.

What can i do to make my frizzy hair straighten better?

the trick is keeping moisture OUT. The best thing you can do is blow dry your hair and straighten without any products in it- you will be amazed at how much faster it is. Once you have it straight, you want to seal out moisture with a sliicone based gloss and make sure you coat the ends. AG and Lorea'l both have a good serum, but its pricey ($20-$30). You only need a few drops so it lasts a long time. I also like the aerosol finishing spray from Garnier to keep everything in place.

Be sure to give yourself a good conditioning treatment once a week if you straighten often.

What can i do to make my frizzy hair straighten better?

Shampoo and Condition: While washing hair, pay attention to your scalp. Use a low-detergent shampoo (shampoo that doesn閳ユ獩 give out too much lather) or a formula for fine hair. Wash off before applying conditioner, keep it on for some time and then rinse with cold water. Then press (avoid rubbing) damp hair with towel. Use a wide-tooth comb for combing your hair gently.

What can i do to make my frizzy hair straighten better?

Hey,

Dominican hair salons are great for that. Check if there is one in your area.

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

Okay my blow drier and my flat iron is broke too. After I wash my hair is curls up (it does NOT get nappy so dont say that) anyways how can i get it straight without heat?

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

Well my hair is medium to long so i NEVER want to damage it with heat..what i do is i wash it then while its wet i part it on the side half way and wrap it around my head going clock wise then i put something on it to hold it that way and leave it for almost the whole day or untill it drys then i take it down and its pretty staight but it differs with every person thats just something i do but my hair is kinda different ..so i dont know something you could try..

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

you could try a shampoo that says it makes hair straight other then that i dont think there is another way sorry

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

Not gonna happen kiddo... If you have an iron (like for clothes) you can iron your hair on one of the lower settings. I have done that in place of my straightener before.

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

buy a hair relaxer. just dont get burned.

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

try a beyond the zone product. when you get out of the show run a little through your hair and comb it through. it works better with a blow dryer but because you dont have one, a comb and air dry is a good idea!!

good luck!!

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

Ohh good one..no idea...borrow some heat from somebody !!! LOL

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

This might sound crazy

but it worked when my

blowdryer decided it didn't

want to work anymore.

It's the Summer, so I'm sure

you've got a fan somewhere

in the house.

-Spritz your hair

with a bit of hairspray.

-Sit in front of the fan

and just keep brushing

your hair until it dries.

Because you're brushing downwards,

your hair will straighten out. And the

hairspray will prevent flyaways.

Hope this helps!!

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

okay, sounds stupid, but if you grab a brush and stand in front of a table fan, it blows out almost the same as with a blow dryer, and most of the time, you'll get shinier hair too!

i used to do this when it was too hot to blow dry my hair. (it gets really hot in Texas in the summer! )

Good luck!!

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

while your hair is damp put some coconut oil on it, put it in individual braids, once completely dried use a comb and a brush to straighten it...works for me and my hair is natural

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

when every you wash your hair wrap it and put a scarf on it and let it air dry it wont be bone straight but it wont be super curly either. but make sure when you wrap it you put some kinda oil on it cuz it will get puffy

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

Personally, I don't think anything is going to work to straighten your hair. I mean you have no blow dryer or flat iron. Then you don't even want a perm. OH, buy a wig that will help!!!

Straight hair without heat???????????QUICK PLZ!!!!!!?

I advise you buy another straightener... it'll cost about 30$

I've gone through many straighteners... including two or three professional ones. Right now I have the Remington Wet2Straight straightener (but of course I don't straighten my hair when it's wet... no matter what kind of straightener you use it damages your hair a lot!). It cost me 26.88 at walmart and is honestly the best straightener I have ever used. It takes me about twenty minutes to straighten my hair (it is very thick) and with other straighteners it took me up to 45 minutes to an hour! I really recommend you get this straightener!!

Will i get stiff short hair like most do...if i get a perm?

i have long curly hair that goes to the middle of my back. its not really that nappy but its frizzy like a lot of curly hair people have problems with(its not like african hair) its bouncy when i straighten it...but i see that a lot of people who get relaxers or perms have stiff short hair and so do you think i should get a perm. My hair looks great when straightened though but it looks really nice when i have it natural curly in a ponytail or some kinda updo....should i use a relaxer on it??!?!?!

Will i get stiff short hair like most do...if i get a perm?

i would just work with what you have! it sounds like you have nice hair, you just need the right products!

Will i get stiff short hair like most do...if i get a perm?

For your info African Americans have all kind of hair.

Will i get stiff short hair like most do...if i get a perm?

I had a perm 2 months ago and my hair didn't turn out stiff...it turned out wavy/curly just how I wanted it. The people you see with stiff perms either got jipped with a really crappy perm or they're using the wrong products or too much products in their hair, because mine is still quite soft.

Are you talking about perming with straight results, or perming with curly results? Either way, if you go to a good salon it'll turn out fine. Shop around, ask people where they get their perms done and if you like their results, go to their salon.

Will i get stiff short hair like most do...if i get a perm?

no but they suck I had one once

Will i get stiff short hair like most do...if i get a perm?

if you have healthy hair a good perm will not ruin your hair if done right. i would think that if you like the way your hair is naturally your best bet would probably be to buy a good flat iron such as CHI and buy a heat protector like CHI silk infusion or biosilk silk therapy. these will help keep your hair from heat damage from the ironing process.

How can i get my hair more curly with out using texturizers?

My hair is some what curly but a little nappy, i just wanted to find some ways to make it more curlier than nappy with out using any chemicals.

How can i get my hair more curly with out using texturizers?

Try one of these leave-in treatments to "stretch" out your tight curls (naps).

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-in Cream or

S-Curl Instant "No Drip" Activator

How can i get my hair more curly with out using texturizers?

One Word Perm

How can i get my hair more curly with out using texturizers?

That's a hard one. Using no chemicals... but you could always use a curling iron. Or, when you get out of the shower, use a curling mousse to scrunch your hair. That way your hair will have more curls, and more volume. Good Luck. Hope I helped! =))

How can i get my hair more curly with out using texturizers?

curling mosse and scrunching.

How can i get my hair more curly with out using texturizers?

use curling mousse or anti frizz serum to control the nappy look...

How can i get my hair more curly with out using texturizers?

blow dry it

What are the best products or treaments for African American hair that is damaged?

I am Black mixed with Indian. My hair is breaking and is extremly damaged. Sometimes my hair is fine and sometimes it gets somewhat nappy from some things i use on it. I am trying to stop breakage and promote growth and healthy hair. I have a relaxer, but I think that starting breaking my hair in the first place. It hurts just to comb my hair, not that it is tangled. But my roots hurt. My hair is constantly just breaking and coming out when I comb it. To grow out the relaxer would be and extremly long and hard process.

Does anyone know of any *working* products to use on African American hair. My hair is easily weighed down, so I need something light. I haved tried alomost every shampoo in the stores.

---%26gt;Please, if you know of any treatments/products please inform me.

Feel free to email me anything you might not want to share with alot of other people at msz.auhtentik@yahoo.

What are the best products or treaments for African American hair that is damaged?

I agree with Sunshineview !!!

But if you really want to do it yourself at home...

This is what you need (read carefully, its alot, but it will change everything!). You need to make sure you hair has MOISTURE (is moisturized) ...

I use "Just For Me" kids relaxer (Im 21, but Mixed, so I can't use the strong adult African-American perms because they break my hair.) Its always better to use a weaker perm for your hair than a really strong one. A perm/relaxer that is too stong is the major cause in hair weakness, breakage %26amp; drying (its a sign of over-processing). I advise that you choose the best for you (Your Choice) but make sure its not too strong. Dont buy the strongest one on the market. Start weak and if you need to increase then do it next time around.

I also use "Motions CPR" Conditioning Treatment EVERY week. After you wash your hair, use CPR, put a plastic cap on and sit under a hooded/bonnet hard-hat dryer for 10-15 mins, then wash it out. (This is Deep Conditioning) And this is the BEST thing you can do for weak, thin, dry or damaged hair... hint *CPR (Critical Repair and Treatment). It really does seal you hair cuticles and flood them with protein and moisture. It repairs your hair and make it so much stronger and grow fast too. It also keeps your hair healthy even if it already is. It's great!!!

http://www.motionshair.com/M_products/M_... ...Motions CPR

That will stop the breakage and add moisture. The next thing you need is a Protein Restructurer. Perms/relaxers and other harsh treatments distroy the natural protein-bonds in our hair. This will not rebuild them, but it will resturure the bonds that you do have left. (Thats why its best to use a weaker perm because it doesnt cause as many bonds to break.) Motions has this also and it works really well to start restructuring your hair. Healthy hair will hold moisture better.

http://www.motionshair.com/M_products/M_... ...Protein Restructuror

I get my hair straighten once every season (fall, winter, spring %26amp; summer) so thats also the same time I get my hair trimed. You need to trim your ends too. This is very important to slowly get rid of those dead/split ends which causes moisture lost. Split ends causes your hair to break, because it cant properly hold moisture, which causes your hair cutiles to open wider and break. This makes hair thin from the loss of stands and stunks hair growth. (Split Ends = Dry Hair and Broken Hair !!!)

* Make sure you are being kind to your ENDS, dont use curlers or flat irons unless absolutely nessary (use rollers more). Stay away from the blow-dryers (try to use sit-under dryers). General Rule, "Stay away from HEAT."

http://www.doogro.com/vitalizers.html

You can find all of this at Sally's and any Black hair store and most of it at Wal-Mart.

Also our hair is made of protein (all protein), so you may want to look into your diet and make sure you are getting enough. Taking a women's multi-vitamin (or pre-natal) or Biotin everday will make sure you are getting enough of it, along with calcium which our hair also loves. You have to take care of your hair from the inside and out. Hair products take care of the outside. But you also have to check on the inside... your diet! to make sure your hair has what it even needs to grow and thicken.

I hope I have helped.

Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner

http://www.cremeofnature.com/ (Creme of Nature Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner all in one) It's great.

* Dont use Detangling shampoos though (they are good but not what you need), always use Mosterizing shampoos.

If you need any more tips or how-to's send me a note. Good Luck.

What are the best products or treaments for African American hair that is damaged?

how often do you wash your hair and dry it? if you do it too often that can be the reason.

if you want your hair to grow for a while try getting braids. but not micro they will damage it even worst.

get braids and let your hair go with out combing it. once you take the braids out try not to relax it or style it just wear it in a braid for a while. it's going to take a few months but it will allow your hair to grow probably in the quickest time frame and allow it not to be so fragile.

What are the best products or treaments for African American hair that is damaged?

I think you need to find a really good beautician, someone who has been in the business for awhile, Licensed of coarse.Depending just on that over the counter stuff to repair it will ruin your hair!

What are the best products or treaments for African American hair that is damaged?

Hi. I know from personal observation that some people seem to do okay with relaxers, and others don't. I have found that the best way to deal with delicate African American hair is to start with shampoos and conditioners that really moisturize the hair. The brand I use is Northwest Scents. You can find out about these products at http://www.black-hair-growth.info

I have nappy, hair what do i do?

do somthing whit it so it can stay out of my face

I have nappy, hair what do i do?

Try brushing it (not too hard, or it will damage your hair) but take your time and be patient because it will take awhile to brush out the knots. Then put it into a cute bun, and that should keep the hair out of your face. Also make sure your hair is well-moisturized, so it doesn't get dry and brittle.

I have nappy, hair what do i do?

you can wear a cute headband....they're in style....

also, you can get a perm or straighten it or get a cosmotologist to do you hair to make it managable....

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

im a black girl who is going on this trip with my friend...we are going to stay in orlando and go to water parks and such but the water park is only for a day(after that are land rides)..of course my stylist wont be there or anyone who remotely knows how to fix up ethnic or "kinky" hair ( but im sorta mixed so my hair is a little softer and smoother ;not nappy at all)so i was wondering if anyone knew certain styles for black girls where i can wet my hair for one day and still have it look nice after.

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

you could always braid it and then wear it wavy the next day

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

as a black chick the best thing I can advise is to get your hair braided before you go so when it gets wet you won't loose the style.

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

I also have ethnic hair...what you could do is after the water park, make sure you wash your hair and then put in a good leave-in conditioner and braid your hair (not too tight) and then take it down in the morning. It will look wavy...hope this helps!!!!

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

braids

or a smoothing serum and slick your hair back into a "curly" ponytail

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

Braids are your best bet. That way, you can create different styles by letting them hang or putting them up with a scrunchie, clips or bobby pins.

Help!! how ethnic hair can look nice after being wet?

It's not possible. Black girls hair looks like a brillo pad wet or dry.

Advice for my daughters hair?

My daughter has very curly hair,. It looks a little dry in the back of her head and I would like to know what any of you do to keep your child's hair looking healthy and slick. She is half puerto rican and half african american. So her hair is smooth but it is a bit nappy too. I want to try to keep natural and not put too many chemicals in her hair. Thanks!

Advice for my daughters hair?

Wow, what a lovely combination!!! :-)

I love these products:

***Organic Root Stimulator - Olive Oil (it's a cream in a bottle, sold at Sally's... I actually like all of their products, but this olive oil cream is wonderful, especially on the kiddies)

**Unrefined 100% shea butter - it's yellow and has little spots in it - that's the only way I can tell... it's thick so a little goes a long way and I use it sparingly, but it seems to work well. I buy it from a lady, so I have not purchased the ones in the stores. Maybe you can look into it.

My mom used coconut oil when I was young, I use it sometimes, it's okay, nothing special.

A detangler usually does the trick too. Just any one. I haven't found one that doesn't necessarily work.

Oh yeah and there's a product, but I can't tell you what it's called, I know you can get it at Sally's and Walmart... it's PINK, the pink bottle, there's one called Light Pink, that one works best for my kids, but doesn't do a thing for my hair (kinky). So try that too.

I wash my hair 1 to 2 x a week, but I see that my kids need their hair washed 2 to 3 times. So be sure to wash it enough.

Advice for my daughters hair?

mayonaise works great..keep it in for about 5 minutes before washing off...howver make sure you get it all out because it doesnt smell the best.

Advice for my daughters hair?

I have the same problem I straighten mine. Not just with iron with ceramic straighteners because they put shine and bounce in your hair.

Advice for my daughters hair?

Use just a little curl activator gel or any motions product, you will only ever need a little touch, those store have it all. Get bouncy curls, no frizz.

Advice for my daughters hair?

i would reccomend Dove Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner, it will leave your hair very soft and it smells really good.

Advice for my daughters hair?

BIOSILK hair products. The silk therapy will make it smooth, shiny, and easy to comb. They also make a gel for gentel styling. If you use the silk therapy followed with the gel, you will give her soft, shiny, curls that maintain thier shape and be rid of most of the frizz.

Advice for my daughters hair?

my niece has hair the same we just use yes me and her mothers little invention a little lemon juice a bit of baby oil and coconut conditioner and it works great Dahlias hair is perfect but you have to apply in the morning when her hair is just a bit damp and again later in the afternoon or night

good luck

Advice for my daughters hair?

oh I love this one. It is easy as pie. I use Professional products so you can find these at a salon or you know a friend who does hair for a living.

1.) Shampoo with moisturizing shampoo Design essentials or Kara care hydrating shampoo

2.) Condition with moisturizing conditioner by Design essentials or Kara care hydrating conditioner. Comb conditioner through hair

3.) Design essentials 2n1 this product will give her moisture and bring out the natural curl pattern. Put on hair while it is wet. use generous amount the first time, Then use as needed until next shampoo.

try it and let me know if you like.

oh yeah this has no chemicals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Advice for my daughters hair?

ooh i like this question!!

im half black half white and had the same problem for years and years. not only with dry spots but also with frizz.

leave in conditioner is my saviour!! i recommend either AG Fast Food (purple and white bottle) or Abba (brown and tan bottle...this ones all natural). they can be expensive but theyre totally worth it. the keep the frizz down, moisturize, and keep it shiny without getting greasy. i put it in after i shower while im doing my hair and it keeps it nice throughout the day. my advice is to avoid chemicals...theyre terrible in the long run. but leave in conditioners are amazing!! hope that helps.

Will nappy hair be popular now?

Now that "nappyhair" is a household word?

Will nappy hair be popular now?

If it is, I'll be popular every morning! lol

Will nappy hair be popular now?

no, nappy hair will not be popular. sorry.

Will nappy hair be popular now?

I don't really see that trend catching on anytime soon...

Will nappy hair be popular now?

Some stupid white women even wear their hair that nappy way now and all we need is for it to become trendy. Solidarity forever!

Will nappy hair be popular now?

Lord I hope not.

Will nappy hair be popular now?

Yes, where can I get a nappy headed 'ho. I don't want to be the last one on my block to get one. What kind of batteries does it take? Is assembly required?

Will nappy hair be popular now?

I doubt it, most blacks straighten their hair and whites curl theirs. People always want what they don't have.

Will nappy hair be popular now?

LOL!!!!

HOPE NOT!!

A weird question about my hair...?

Ok this is a little strange. I am biracial ( african american and asian) and I was born with straight hair (lots of hair) and when I turned 2 yrs old my hair turned very curly and got a bit nappy over the years. Although some areas remain straight. Is it possible to have straight hair all over again? I have noticed some of my hair turning back straight? How did my hair change in the first place.?

A weird question about my hair...?

Most people's hair changes, though not that drastic. It would be possible, but not likely for you to have straight hair again. Most people's hair changes every 7 years. Up until i was seving i had a fro, the it got longer and frizzier, and at 14 it kinda calmed down. So really it depends on when your 7 years is up!

Why do people refer to their hair as nappy?

nappy is sh*t in a diaper, Are you calling your hair texture sh*t-like?

Why do people refer to their hair as nappy?

no they say it is nappy becuase it is hard to comb

Why do people refer to their hair as nappy?

Nappy used to be an offensive term, but in recent years natural haired black women have embraced the term.

I love my napps.. n happy 2 be nappy are all positive statements now.

How can i make my hair un nappy without picking or perming it?

im half black and half white so my hair is really curly but nappy so how can i fix it with out messin up my curles? and mayb ad some weight 2 em

How can i make my hair un nappy without picking or perming it?

My hair is kinda crazy. If I wear it wavy, I put that cholesterol conditioner in it and comb it out while in the shower. I add Frizz Ease to keep it from getting bushy. My hair stays curly this way. SO! Comb while in shower and rinse again, add frizz ease and go! This should work for you.

How can i make my hair un nappy without picking or perming it?

Jerrycurl juice

How can i make my hair un nappy without picking or perming it?

go to a hair place.

How can i make my hair un nappy without picking or perming it?

Braid it

How can i make my hair un nappy without picking or perming it?

My kids are biracial. You need to spray with a LIGHT moisturizing spray, all the way to the scalp. Then comb or brush it a lot. Also, keep it trimmed.

My one son's hair does not need moisturizer, but the other's hair sounds like yours. he looks best with low, neat haircuts with a little style goin' on in the part, etc.

Look for products by softsheen or Mizani.

Love your locks!!!!!

How can i make my hair un nappy without picking or perming it?

i'm a cosmetologist. half of it is in the cut. right the right cut, you should look good. you can tell a good haircut cause it looks good even as it's growing out. the other part is the product. if gel doesn't work, you could always try a pomade. Crew makes a product called Grooming Cream and one of the ingredients is castor oil -- the oil penetrates the shaft of corse hair, giving it control and lustre with out being flaky or crunchy. it's a little pricy but it's sooo worth it. are you growing your hair out really long or something? If so, you're gonna go through an akward stage for a while no matter what. I say just crop it so you can keep it looking good.

How can i make my hair un nappy without picking or perming it?

cant sorry you have to pick it,.

How can i make my hair un nappy without picking or perming it?

Dread it up! It'll probably look nice on you.

Seriously, I've noticed that all the racist on here who tell corny jokes, now only know how to say Nappy headed hos which wasn't funny to begin with! Find something new to say! Black people have natural hair as anyone and choose to do what they want with it, either wear it nappy, perm it, wear extensions, braids! So what's the joke behind it? Half of you don't even know what nappy means! The same thing Black people are doing with their hair, I see other people doing like flat ironing it, getting extensions, trying to rock afros! So drop the corny line!

The Nappy Headed Hos Joke is Played Out!!!?

thanks for the shout out mami'. I am so sick of people using words that they are not familiar with. Nappy is not a new word, its been around and it won't be goin anywhere. The only problem with nappy hair is if you don't want it, then you perm it, wear extensions, braids or whatever. Life is about options form the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. It just so happens that black women are queens when it comes to options for our hair. There are absolutely no limits.

The Nappy Headed Hos Joke is Played Out!!!?

Yeah it's pretty sad. They are doing this. Since a lot of them know the meaning behind the harsh word. I mean I didn't know people were so insenstive on here. I mean why would White Men what to attack black women like this. They didn't do anything.

The Nappy Headed Hos Joke is Played Out!!!?

tell me about it if i have to make one more narcoleptic joke the next time i take a bath i'm takin' the toaster with me

The Nappy Headed Hos Joke is Played Out!!!?

Priscilla, from what I can see, you look hot.

The Nappy Headed Hos Joke is Played Out!!!?

The point is to get points, right? Some people only want attention. It's definately a mixed bag of salad greens that are bein' served on THIS table! Many people just don't know how to OR want to share information in this site!

The Nappy Headed Hos Joke is Played Out!!!?

NO KIDDING! People have the right to say whatever they want, but this has GOT to be one of the most ignorant displays by the racists. I'd love to know why it is that they think a person's hair type matters so much to them and why it is that they are under the impression that certain people all have the same hair type.

And you're right.... They apparently have no clue what ''nappy'' means. Dry hair isn't the equivalent of ''nappy'' hair, which is one of the things being assumed. And it's being assumed that all black women have it. I'll never forget one of my high school friends. She's black and has the softest wavy hair that I've ever seen on a woman, and she could ''run'' her fingers through it with no problem. Many of the girls were jealous of her and tried to start fights with her. One even cut some of her hair off in class. Anyway, this stereotype is soooo beyond stupid that I don't think stupid is even the right word to discribe it. And it's such a non-issue. If a person doesn't like someone else's hair, so what? No one has to ''wear'' that person's hair except, duh, THAT PERSON.

The Nappy Headed Hos Joke is Played Out!!!?

AMEN...all the racist on here just need a big black cock in there mouth maybe then they'll shut the **** up...

The Nappy Headed Hos Joke is Played Out!!!?

people just want to jump on the wagon like its open mike night at the K.K.Karoake Klub, they feel like o yea we can do the nappy headed ho thing and people will think we're talking about current events ----and they really want a reason to voice their inner racist azzes

thats my thought anyway

Do Carrols Daughter products really work for black people with dry curly hair?

Kinky hair ....?

ok im 14 of mexican descent as far as i kno im not sure about my moms side at all i was wondering why i have had thick straight hair all my life but lately its been nappy like if i havent combed it or taken a bath for a long time my hair has always been short about 2 inches long ive been letting my hair grow for a bout a 4 months and ever since it got to about 4 inches long it got real kinky i never put styling stuff in it i wash it 1 to 2 times a day do i lack vitamins do i need to see a doctor i like it its pretty cool but no one in my family has kinky hair just wavy so does any one have an idea of why its like this any tips if somethings wrong with me heres a picture of a girl with hair like mine http://media.nowpublic.com/images/c0/2/c...

Much appreciated

Kinky hair ....?

your only 14 so your getting your permanent hair texture. nothing can change your hair unless it's burnt by hair chemical's that's the only thing that can make your hair kinky other then being born with it. it doesnt matter if your mom or dad has kinky hair or not. what about your grand parent's aunt's or uncle's. check them out. here's how i know

i am irish and portuguese and my children's father is dominican black and indian. my mom is irish with straight hair, the children's father has kinky hair i have a soft curly hair. my oldest son has kinky hair. my middle child has a soft curl just like mine. and my youngest son has absolutely straight hair not a single wave.

so you see every one in your family play's a role in your gentic's. so once again do a search to see if anyone else in your family has kinky hair.

there are thing's you can do for kinky hair just consult a hair dresser. or maybe a friend who has the same hair as you.

Kinky hair ....?

Ask sanjaya maybe he can help ya

Kinky hair ....?

maybe use some gel to control it

an washing it everyday or twice a day will make it dry

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

I should have some nice european hair since i'm like mixed with black, indian and white. instead my hair gets kind of nappy, it does get a lot curly when i wet my hair, but thats about it. i dont understand,my mom has some nice soft good hair and i dont , i mean we do have good hair (brothers and sisters), but its not that great compared to other mixed people like derek jeter or mariah carey. can you expalin to me why, is it because black is more dominant or something.

here is me:http://s244.photobucket.com/albums/gg5/P...

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

Well, you are mostly black right? and black genes are dominant over caucasian genes. Even some half-blacks have "nappy" hair, so don't sweat it, you're a guy and girls don't even pay attention to guy's hair. At least I don't! Just be thankful that you look handsome. :). A true woman that loves you will not care what your hair looks like, so just keep that in mind!

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

I like your hair..thats a good picture..

Maybe you just have more oil in your hair than your mom..but it still looks good!

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

Well since you have some black ancestry, that might have something to do with it. It's called genetics. Also, Jeter and Carey are millionaires.

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

maybe its because you have more black then white and indian?

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

You have more black in you.

Just chill with the hair, ok? It looks good. No worries.

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

because you got the hair from your black side..most ppl who are mixed usually do.

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

its because the black in you in dominant in your DNA.

like, if a white man has a baby with a black woman, you have to expect it to look black.

its just how it is.

mariah carey is puerto rican i think.

and she most likely has extentions cause shes really fake.

but yeah idk, but your a guy, and your hair is fine the way it is. atleast your not a girl, cause then you would need it straighend or get a weave.

yeahhh idk. haha

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

im mixed to n my hair is REALLY curly. it just depends on how much genes each parent gave to you. I got more :black" genes and my twin sister got more "white" but based on your picture it looks like you got a lot of black

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

yeah its probably just dominant black dna. your picture looks good though.

I am mixed, but why does my hair get nappy?

Dude chill out, your hair is fine! If your mixed and have some black in you then that is why you have "nappy" hair. Maybe if you grew your hair some more then it wouldn't be nappy.

How do i get my friend to let me help her with her hair?

OK,my friend has long frizzy curly hair and self chopped bangs she always oins up....her bangs pop out at the top and she always wears her hair in a bun thats slouchy and nappy looking. the bun itself goes down about 7 inches. and the bangs, as i said are horrible! how to convince her to let me help her with her hair? shes so particular about who touches it,

How do i get my friend to let me help her with her hair?

use reverse psychology and just say,"fine, i wont help you! just walk around like Raggedy Ann, if you like."

or go around asking people if her hair looks nice.. and make sure she's present so she can hear what people really think.

How do i get my friend to let me help her with her hair?

well dont be to touchy. suggest a game or something. say u are going on a date and want to practice doing hairstyles and stuff. maybe she will let you. so try hair styles on her. maybe she will like them and use them. good luck!!

How do i get my friend to let me help her with her hair?

Honestly unless she wants you to help her with her hair, then there's probably nothing you can do. Maybe you could just suggest new hairstyles to her and maybe she will get the hint!

Ever call a bitchychic a "Nappy haired Ho bag"?

..if so, you are not special..trust me...they ain't happy about nappy more than Ho anyway, so Ha! to the hair...out of no where. Know where yet? ..and the indiscretion of that white (but not white enough) MF'er that thought he was me and could speak that way with that salary. Truth be known...I call then what they call themselves.

Ever call a bitchychic a "Nappy haired Ho bag"?

are you off your meds???

Ever call a bitchychic a "Nappy haired Ho bag"?

this is probably the 50th question i've seen on this topic... and no i wouldn't... i have a larger vocabulary than that and it doesn't involve racial slurs...

Ever call a bitchychic a "Nappy haired Ho bag"?

No I havent.

I bet you any money you've never called anyone that face to face - only with the protection of the internet would a coward like you say such a thing.

Ever call a bitchychic a "Nappy haired Ho bag"?

I'm so tired of people referring to women as B*tches, Hos, etc. Quit it. ...and don't make fun of our hair, either.

Ever call a bitchychic a "Nappy haired Ho bag"?

Im a nappy haired ho....I wish :(

Hair Breakage?

I am an African American/Native American/Caucasian American/Creole (Souhtern French) and my hair is breaking off in the front. Usually, african american's hair breaks out in the back but as some people say I have that good straight hair in the back. The only problem is, my hair is half the length it is in the back and my hair is pretty long. My hair isn't straight but it isn't "nappy"-like...can someone help me please?!?!?!

Hair Breakage?

If you tie up your hair or use pins, I would recommend not doing that for a month and see the difference. You would be surprised as to how much hair actually gets damaged from wearing pony tails or from tight hair styles where the hair in the front is being pulled.

Leave your hair down for a month at all times and use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners and oils for your hair to help repair the existing damage.

Hope this helps!

Hair Breakage?

Are you haitian? I say to ask a grandmother or mother to ask for natral remides.

Hair Breakage?

use a leave in conditioner and keep your scalp and hair oiled.....

How do you keep your hair down if you are a black male?

Like im a black male and when i brush my hair a little later it will get nappy again, is there a way to make it so that it stays down longer besides sport N wave?

How do you keep your hair down if you are a black male?

aight this is what all my black friends do, since they like their hair short n flat, basically you take a shower and then you dry it and then u flatten it with a brush and then u put on a durag and then u keep on brushing it osciaonally. it works. lol at my house i couldnt buy a durag because im not black, so i bascilly wore a fitted around and then when i sleep i nomrlaly had my blankets making my hair flat and now its flat.

How do you keep your hair down if you are a black male?

use strong hair gel

i dont see any other solution

How do you keep your hair down if you are a black male?

i think you could probably use a relaxer for your hair...but just to be safe i think you should just go to your local barber/salon and ask for some styling advice.

also you can use pomade, it works well for my brothers' hair although they arent black.

good luck =)

How do you keep your hair down if you are a black male?

remaining your lower hair, cut your upper portion.

How do you keep your hair down if you are a black male?

what you can do is use murrays hairdressing pomade its great for black men all u have to do is when you put it on brush forward adn over again when you feel you have enough pomade on it keep brushing and it should stay for you. Make sure that you wet it first before you put the pomade on it. It works better off if you wet it then the pomade. My bros use it and my boo uses it, its a great product hope this is what your looking for.

How do you keep your hair down if you are a black male?

Male, black. was wondering how to make my hair thicker?

1. GOOD Diet

2. Exercise

3. eat HEATHY Foods

4. try NOT 2 "Stress OUT"

ALSO try http://www.blackhair.com or http://www.http://www.thickhair.com

Male, black. was wondering how to make my hair thicker?

Take biotin

It made my hair thick

Maybe comb it

Male, black. was wondering how to make my hair thicker?

Have you tried texturizers? Maybe if you want that wavy look. For instance, http://www.hairfinder.com/info/360waves.... this guy's hair. You can use a texturizer for you to have waves like that. Also to make your hair thicker you can try Doo gro, Dr. Miracle's hair grow, i mean there's plenty that you can choose from; the ones i suggested are pretty good too:)

Male, black. was wondering how to make my hair thicker?

texturizers

Where can one find the Just for me texturizer for kids ? She is 5 yrs old african american with napp

we live in Orlando Florida and I have looked everywhere for it. She wants a her hair to look naturally curly. She is african american. the web site for this stuff is www.jfmvipclub.com

Where can one find the Just for me texturizer for kids ? She is 5 yrs old african american with nappy hair.?

Family Dollar carries it

Where can one find the Just for me texturizer for kids ? She is 5 yrs old african american with nappy hair.?

They have some in New Orleans, Louisiana on the Westbank in beauty supply stores.

Where can one find the Just for me texturizer for kids ? She is 5 yrs old african american with nappy hair.?

Please, don't put that in her hair.

Why do black folks put relaxers/texturizers in their kids hair. They are beautiful just as they are.

You don't see white mothers bleaching their daughters hair.

Leave the chemical treatments for when she gets older.

I don't mean to offend you, or to call you parenting into question. But I had to post this comment. It simply getting out of hand.

I mean seriously she is 5 not 15. If she said, "Mom I want red hair." would you run and grab some dye. Probably not.

Well putting a relaxer/texturizer in a childs hair is doing the same thing.

Where can one find the Just for me texturizer for kids ? She is 5 yrs old african american with nappy hair.?

OMG! Try Sally's Beauty supply, or Walmart.

Where can one find the Just for me texturizer for kids ? She is 5 yrs old african american with nappy hair.?

please no a 5 year old dont need a perm please stop it. look sweetie believe it or not but young indian girls like myself when we were younger we never used chemicals in our hair only natural products this is why we have long hair im 20 years old now and my hair isnt healthy and not silky because of bleach perm hair. please its best if u make ur daughter use cocunut oil and henna treatments please ur daughter hair will be great trust me i made a mother did this to her daughter for 5mths and her hair looks great

Where can one find the Just for me texturizer for kids ? She is 5 yrs old african american with nappy hair.?

I'm amused that you've said "she wants it to look naturally curly"

Well guess what.. she was not born curly, and no matter what products you put in it, it won't ever be "naturally curly"

Fakng the funk with chemicals is a slippery slope to be on. It's bad enough its plenty of black grown-azz women with bald edges, burns, and chemical damage... but to do it on purpose to a 5 year old who has no idea/concept of the pain/burn/damage she will suffer is just plain irresponsible.

If she said mommy I want light brown highlights and hazel contacts would she get that too?

check out http://www.herspecialhair.com to check out some natural styles for black children or http://www.motowngirl.com

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites ha

stinky hair?? i mean come on!

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

Ugh, honey I'm mixed too but that doesn't make us any better in any aspects than other races. Black hair is beautiful and thick not "nappy" and i will bet my *** that you have gotten your hair flat ironed to look more like white girls' "oily" hair. Get off your high horse.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

this is how god created us, we cant all be the same now can we, that means the stinky and the clean! are here to stay

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

You can come off your pedestal now.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

my hair isn't oily. it's actually pretty dry. i've seen some mixed people with frizzy out of control hair. maybe you're just lucky.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

not everyone can be the same. people are different. does it matter?

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

Wow. I am also a mix and my hair too is great. I, however, do not see any difference in the growth or thickness or grooming of both the Africans and Amercians/Europeans. I dont know what gave you the idea that we have the best hair amid all. That is utter rubbish. How could you have come even close to such a conclusion?

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

Actually, I am as white as it gets, and my mullatto neice has nicer hair than me. I have dry, brittle, tangly, "nappy" hair.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

AND WHO TOLD YOU THAT!!!!! Please get out of your make believe IGNORANT bubble, if just might save your life.

P.S.

Go out and Experience the REAL WORLD!!!!!

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

The reason mixed people have the best hair and skin is because they have the best of both gene pools. This is true of blacks/whites, or hispanics/whites, or any combination of mixed races. My three mixed grandchildren have the softest hair and the smoothest skin of anyone in the family. I envy them their soft hair. It isn't baby fine, or coarse either. The rest of my grandchildren and children have really baby fine hair. Can't do anything with it.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

WHOA woman, not all white people have oily hair!! anyone who doesn't wash their hair in a few days will have oily hair!!

i have great hair too, thick, long, it's no where near thinning, i've belached it, dyed it, cut it, curled it...you name it i've done it, and i somehow still have great hair with shine!

i'm 100% white.....

like the other girl said..you can step off the soap box!

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

You seem to have a much higher opinion of yourself than does the rest of humanity. I think you're a "mixed up" girl at best. I think I would listen to the rest of the world instead of developing an opinion of myself based on pure egotism.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

I'm just a plain old white girl with oily hair! My good friend has a little girl who is mixed %26amp; she will be 1 next month. She is Beautiful!! Mixed people are very lucky because most are beautiful people! Just the right mixture! I think it is God's way of being kind since he can't control society %26amp; the actions of people, so many people give so much grief to mixed relationships! I think it is God's way of letting those people know....It is a beautiful thing no matter what color the people are.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

Not trying to be funny, but I know some African Americans with a good grade of hair.

I now some mixed people with a messed up grade of hair and can be just as nappy as the next.

Not all caucasian people hair is oily.

Just because you are mixed does not mean your hair can't get oily or nappy etc. (You just take cake or you hair)

So my question to you is:

Why do people like you ask stupid questions to show how ignorant you are?

You being mixed has you so confused with who you are which is human.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

Be proud now because you might regret your question in 20 years time. Others might have bad skin and hair now and be the sexiest women and men in the future. Think about this...how would you feel if, in the future, THEY will be the ones to ask you this question? "I'm a black/white girl. How come i have the best hair and skin and the mixed have oily and nappy hair/skin?

Think before you ask a question next time, Ms BestHair%26amp;Skin.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

dont be mean! I'm mixed too and my hair is out of control! everybody has different types of hair

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

1. Get over yourself.

2. It's "better" because you have the best of both worlds....dry and oily = perfect.

3. What's with the "stinky" comment?

4. I am white and would not trade my hair for a mixed girl's hair anyday!

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

LOL 1st of all y'all mixed people do not have the best hair you re wanna be black person white too I'm all black OK and i have gooooooood hair thank you.... You need to see a Doctor to get what ever is wrong with you fixed. Talking about black people have nappy hair and white people have oily hair who are you to say that? Your hair probably ugly as dirt NOW WHAT! WHAT ELSE U GOT TO SAY BOUT OUR HAIR Cause u know what i love my hair THANK YOU

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

cause ur a mix of the 2 extremes...........

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

I don't mean to be rude..........oops yes I do! You are lucky because a lot of people would love to have your hair but enough about your hair you need to get your attitude straight. Stinky! Where did that come from? You need to stop thinking you are all that and get with the program. So....I suggest you stop talking and it is AFRICAN AMERICAN.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

Come bak to the real world the question you asked just show your stupidity to your heritage and what you have not experienced anything in life yet when you begin to see the world in a different light then you may ask that question again. No change that when you open your eyes to the real world you will not see thing that way.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

I have a mixed child and I swear if he ever acts like this I will disown him. You are a disgrace. Instead of being an example of how races can live in harmony with each other and produce beautiful children, you seem to think now that you are somehow superior simply because of the texture of your hair.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

Um, well, I'm white and my hair is not stinky or oily. It is actually quite beautiful.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

You have a lot of nerve saying something like that.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

LOL I GUESS THATS Y U GOTED kNOCKED UP AT 16!

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

I have good hair and good skin because God made me this way! What does race have to do with anything? Just because you are light skinned with curly or wavy hair doesn't mean that you are pretty. And just because you are happy about the way you look, it doesn't mean that anyone different from you should feel inadequate.

Im a mixed girl and how come we have the best hair and skin and blacks have nappy hair and whites have oily?

Wow? You really think your above the races that made you, don't you?
