Nappy-ness??

i'm going natural to grow my hair out., but my hairlines are WAYYY nappy. Any ideas on smoothing them out??

Nappy-ness??

What does nappy mean?

Nappy-ness??

You could flat iron them with a ceramic iron or buy a relaxer and put it evenly on the hairline. I recommend Motions, which can be found at ANY hairstore. Also, opt for the mild or regular. Hope This Helps!

Nappy-ness??

I assume from your question that you have been chemically straightening your hair and now as your new hair grows in, it is your natural coily/curly texture. Going from chemically straightened hair to natural (not chemically altered) hair is commonly called "transitioning". As your hair transitions back to your natural texture, you will have to deal with 2 different textures on your 1 head.

While you have less than an inch of new growth, you can apply a gel or pomade to it and tie a scarf around it to smooth out the curls/coils.

This is only going to work for so long because as you acquire more new growth you'll find it more difficult to smooth it out. You may have to start thermally straightening it if you want it to look like your remaining straightened hair.

I went natural about 5 years ago and it's been wonderful!
