Hair advice?

I am mixed black and white and have thick curly hair(more on the white side, not nappy). I sometimes flat iron it so it is straight, but when I first do it, my hair is dry and dull. I was wondering if anyone knows any good hair products to use?. How often should I flat iron my hair if I decide to do it regularly?

I use a product called Bed Head control freak, and it works pretty well, it costs around $17. But you put it on your hair before straightening it so it protects your hair against the heat. After straightening my hair I use Bed Head after-party, and it works well too, it costs around $12. This you put on after straightening your hair and it makes your hair look shiny and smooth. You can buy both of these products are Target, or a salon store. I would suggest straightening your hair maybe 2-3 times a week, because if you straighten it too much you'll probably end up getting a much of split ends. Hope that helps.

the way it is and

put a cute head band on

then keep ypur bangs out..
