How can I repair my hair?

I had long silky hair past my knees, but i could never fix it like i wanted to. So, in the past 2 years I've had 3 perms. (stupid, i know!) Now, my hair is up above my butt and nappy looking. The part on my scalp gets very oily soon after washing and now that the perm there has fell out, it is much like before. But the whole bottom past my scalp is coarse and frizzy looking. It looks good when I have it gelled, but I miss the length so bad. I have never cut my hair even when i got the perms and i don't intend to ever cut it. So, besides cutting it, what can i do to restore it to the silky long hair i had before?

Go to a salon. Sad to say, but the damage might be severe enough that cutting it my be the only recourse. Otherwise, it might just be a matter of time before it all breaks off anyway. The only one who can tell you for sure is a hairdresser. If it isn't too damaged, they may be able to give it some intensive treatments to improve it. Been there and did that also!

I for one would never have my hair below my knees. But if that is how you like it, Use mayo to re-build your hair, the protein will do wonders. Do not over do this. Use vinegar to make it shine. Go to a good salon and get a product called CHI that will work also.

This sounds funny, but it works. Go buy a jar of mayonnaise. Make sure you get mayonnaise because miracle whip wont work. Put the mayonnaise all throughout your hair. Just like you would hair dye or conditioner. Mayonnaise is basically all fat. So when you get it all in your hair wrap your hair with plastic wrap. This heats the fat in the mayonnaise with your own body heat to break down the lipids. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and rinse. It works for everone, but it sounds like you will need alot of mayonnaise for how long your hair is.

How can I repair my hair?

it doesn't t matter what you do, nothing can actually undo the damage caused by chemical processes, unlike the roots of your hair, the hair above the scalp is very sensitive to chemicals used in perms, colors and even diet and type of water washed in....some products claim to correct damage, but actually do not, damage may be minimized or smoothed, but the damage will be there still, regular trims and or cutting of the hair is the only remedy..it will in time grow back out (if you stay away from chemical processes.

Use lots of deep conditioning. This only needs to be done once a week. The one that I like best is Fructis 3 minute masque. Since your hair is "nappy" like you say, i would leave it on longer. Maybe about10-20minutes. The best thing to do is take a towel and soak it in hot water. Get your hair wet and washed, and put the conditioner on your hair. Then wring out the towel to get excess water out, and wrap your hair with it. The steam from the water helps to penetrate the conditioner into your hair. I used to have problems with my hair during the summer, till a friend told me about the towel thing. Now i use the fructis about 2 times a month, and my hair is fine. Hopefully this will work. Also vitamin E is good for you too..
