I have kinky/nappy hair and need to know what hair straightener to use?

I'm of african and panamain desecent so i have really kinky nappy hair, not to long ago i got relaxer done at a hiar salon, but i washed my hair a couple of days ago and my hair is not as straight as it was. I was wondering where i could buy a really good straighting iron for my hair.

Girl, if there is anything that'll make u happy is the curlmaster flatirton. Im trying to find it online now. Im African American, but I use a relaxer. THe curlmaster makes your hair look like you just got a perm. DO NOT USE GOLD N HOT!! Im not sure about the CHI, I heard good reviews about it, but never tried it. The curlmaster is great though, make sure you moisturize ur hair before using it and condition your hair. Good relaxers to use if u ever decide are, Optimum, Dudley, and Dr. Miracle. Living in NY i was used to going to Dominican hair salons, where they make ur hair look like u were puertorican or something, after I moved I had to start taking care of my own hair, and Im telling u what the solution is from a girl with nappy hair herself. I mean so nappy where I can break a comb or 2. USE CURLMASTER!

a ceramic strraightener, and no, ignore emily or wvt, not a really hot one, cause that will damage the hair. too hot is bad

go to sallys. the curlmaster with the ceramic plates. they run about 40-50 if i can remember correctly.

make sure that it has the dial on it, so that you can move the dial up and make it as hot as you want.

also make sure that you do small sections of your hair to get it the straightest as possible.

ALSO: My friend who is half African American and Half White bought the Gold and Hot and its horrible! It broke very easily and isnt worth it. Most of the cheaper Flat Irons do not work very well. Just a little FYI.

a ceramic straightener at sally's theryr aboy $45ish and they work great my hair get like that too but wen im done its smooth and glossy. also try to get one with a dial on it so that its not too hot or what ever. this way its just the way you want it and it wont damge your hair

When shampooing your hair remember to use conditioning shampoos formulated for BLACK hair..like CREME OF NATURE . Creamy shampoos NOT clear get types. They contain alcohol and strip the straightner from your hair. That's why it started to frizz..Use conditioners!! Toss the cheap shampoos.

Well Gold N Hot will be a quick pick because they are specialized for african american hair and reasonable they range from 20-50 dollars but I use the CHI iron it makes my hair look like I just got a relaxer it comes with a price tag of about 89 dollars

As far as shampoos goes I highly recommend Joico Silk Results for coarse/thick hair, I use that shampoo and conditioner on my little girl because regular detangling shampoos and conditioners do not work on her hair, with the Joico Silk Results I can actually get my fingers through her hair. With the straightening irons go to a beauty supply or to a salon to get a high quality one, but stay away from the wet/dry ones because they can make the hair frizz up more.

I'm half african american (AA)and also have natural kinky nappy hair. I have a relaxer and I use the CHI ceramic flat iron (ceramic is less damaging to the hair). I wash my hair once a week with Aveda Brilliant Shampoo and conditioner. I then apply the Damage Remedy Intensive Treatment Therapy to my hair for 5 minutes. After I wash that out I pour a dime size of CHI silk infusion in my hand and put that all in my hair. I blow dry it and brush it out with a comb to kinda get it straight. After that I apply more CHI silk infusion (this stuff is not greasy) and put another dime size in my hair. I use the Aveda Brilliant Damage Control and Isoplus Oil Sheen Hair Spray to spray my strands of hair right before using the CHI flat iron. As you use the CHI flat iron, turn it like a curling iron for that silky curled tip. It comes out really nice. After I am all done straightening my hair I spray some Aveda Brilliant Shine and wha-laaa.... it looks like I came from the salon. Because you have a relaxer, you have to protect your hair from all that heat (flat iron and blow dryer). So, spray your hair to protect it before you jack it up. I learned the hard way in the past.

For grease on your scalp when it gets dry try the Aveda Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade. Also you can try Farouk Biosilk Silk Therapy for a nice shine. Like the CHI Silk infusion, you just put a dime size amount in your hair and it leaves it shiny, non greasy and healthy for the mid week. Works for me and my lil sis, who is all AA.

Gold N Hot products is carted to black hair. Put some grease on your hair before straighten your hair. You should look into different hair products that is suppose to help soften your. That may help with the nappy. Try a deep conditioner after washing your hair. Sit up under a heating cap or dryer with the conditioner after washing it. Try Motion CPR if you can find it. It works for me.

Don't use a iron on relax hair. You will damage your hair. Go back to the salon, and have them correct the problem. Your hair is so suppose to stay straighter longer than 2 weeks.
